The Chief Audit Executive has built an enviable team of ambitious, commercial and like-minded individuals. This congestive unit work together towards the common goal of adding value to the business and ultimately providing an independent assessment to the Board and Audit Committee.

This opportunity entitled Senior Audit Manager would suit someone looking to take on a ‘second in command’ (2IC) position. The successful applicant will be tasked with shaping, driving and motivating the audit function.

Managing the overall execution of the audit plan is fundamental; balancing resources, materiality of risks and timing constraints within the group.

Your responsibilities will include:
• Hands-on execution of the annual audit plan and reporting as required,
• Contributing to the annual and 3 year audit plan for approval by the CFO and the Audit and Risk Committee
• Assisting with the presentation of plans, audit findings, areas of concern, and progress in addressing prior issues to the Audit & Risk Committee,
• Continuously influencing and liaising with the Group Executive and key business managers to maintain an awareness of changes in business operations / controls,
• Key stakeholder engagement with Senior Management and presenting to the Board in absence of the HOA,
• Liaison with divisional directors to align to groups practices where required,
• Playing a key role in driving teamwork across the Finance and Commercial areas of the business,
• Assisting in the leadership and development of the internal audit team,
• Liaising with external auditors in order to maximize the reliance they can place on internal audit work.
• Willingness to travel both nationally and internationally as required by the audit plan.

To be successful, you will demonstrate significant experience managing internal audit engagements and leading a team within a large complex organisation, ideally in the built environment. You will also be comfortable operating and presenting at Senior Management level and chairing internal meetings as required.

Key to your success will be your strong commercial acumen and ability to really drive change and influence senior management to ensure the audit/risk agenda supports the businesses strategy on an ongoing basis.
